Dr. Carlos Morales Sánchez

My work is related to developing novel materials and coatings prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) for room temperature hydrogen (H2) gas sensing applications, which constitute a key safety part of the development of green, renewable energy vectors in the coming energy transition. This research line constitutes a continuation of the so-called project “Innovation Campus for Microelectronics and Microsensing (iCampμs) Cottbus”, a new center aimed to boost the structural changes in the Lausitz region to switch from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy in the next few decades.

The PNB grant is offering me an exciting frame to continue my academic career and to establish new and stronger collaborations with other young scientists in Brandenburg. Weaving this network is necessary to succeed in bringing new solutions to current societal challenges.
