Dr. Vaderament-Alexe Nchiozem-Ngnitedem

I am Vaderament-Alexe Nchiozem-Ngnitedem, a Cameroonian citizen and PhD holder in Phytochemistry from the University of Nairobi (Kenya). As a PNB fellow, I am conducting a project at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Potsdam.
I aim to translate phytochemical discoveries, predominantly found in soybeans and other legumes, into medicinal chemistry frameworks. This field encompasses the study of drug discovery and development, including identifying new hit compounds, synthesizing new derivatives, and analyzing their interactions with biological systems, particularly for the treatment of infectious diseases. The funding received from the Postdoc Network Brandenburg will serve as a catalyst to achieve this objective. Following this program, I aspire to remain engaged in science, specializing in medicinal chemistry to innovate and develop new therapeutic agents to alleviate human suffering.
